The great majority of behavior problems a teacher must handle are relatively minor disruptions, such as talking out of turn, getting up without permission, failing to follow class rules or procedures, and inattention. However minor these behaviors are, they must be minimized for learning to occur. The methods and strategies teachers integrate to minimize routine misbehavior has a strong link to the learning environment and student achievement.
